The Westgate Gazette

In year 4, the children have been hard at work refining their journalistic skills this half term.



Across the year group, the children have spent hours researching and learning about what it takes to be a successful investigative journalist and they have created their own newspapers and published the first ever addition of The Westgate Gazette.












The Night Zoo Keeper Writing Competition

Year 3 and 4 have been getting creative with their writing thanks to the online digital learning tool The Night Zoo Keeper.


The competition was to invent their very own creature to live in this very special zoo. Read the winning animal descriptions below:

Ever fancied a holiday in the Alps?
Year 6 have been writing postcards home, imagining they were holidaying in the Alps. their task was to describe the physical landscape in a creative way.








Little Red Ridinghood

Year 2 have been reading traditional tales including this famous Grimm fairy tale...









Year 2 - Lighthouses

Year 2have been learning all about lighthouses. They have even made their own fantastic 3D model lighthouses. They then wrote out instructions on how they made them, remembering to include all the key features of an instructional text.









Year 2 Transition Project- The BFG

As part of a transition week for Year 2 pupils moving it Year 6 pupils studied the fascinating world of Roald Dahl's The BFG. This transition project gave pupils to the opportunity to be creative writers combing art and reading together.
